The Bizkaia Technology Park was established in 1985 in Zamudio, by promoting the institutions of the Basque Country, with a mission to promote the diversification of industry, and the transfer and dissemination of technology and innovation.Today the park covers the towns of Zamudio and Derio. In addition, the Technology Park of Bizkaia has addressed its extension to the proposed campus on the Left Bank, in the municipalities of Abanto and Ortuella, and the proposed Science Park at the UPV / EHU Leioa.

The Alava Technology Park is a reference environment regarding Research, Development and Innovation in the Basque Country, with a high flow of innovating companies devoting more than 10% of their investment to R&D&I, as well as an outstanding scientific-technological community integrated by researchers of Technology Centres, corporate R&D Units and R&D&I coordination agents.
