On 24 April 2012 at 11:00, a seminar entitled "Bioethics and Research in Biomedicine", organised by the Centro di Bioetica clinica del Mediterraneo, will be held at the Technology Park of Sardinia in Pula.

Since Nuremberg, informed consent is the legal and moral framework for patients participation in research. In the past few years new issues have challenged informed consent:
- International research by resource rich countries in resource poor
countries
- Research, usually, genetic, on stored tissue samples
- The growing bureaucratic challenges of IRBs (Research Committees).
